Doomster drama queens of this ilk discredit our little sector here ... scarey-boo, cheney-monsters under the bed, jeez, makes me wonder if it might be time to pare back on PMs in favour of base metals ... Robertson's comments and Berry's editing of them are more founded in partisanship than in economics, imho, not very useful, not very smart - the same syndrome that drives the USA to periodically elect Bush/Cheney types was there two centuries ago in the Clay/Calhoun days and it will still be there long after we're gone, it's just part of the landscape, the swing back to somewhat more civilised admin comes in due course but they're not that far apart either, and aside from possibly saving some of the military adventure money, aren't showing much promise of enduring fiscal responsibility
So their fiat is shot, will continue to decline ... but that of other countries will too, this is the natural way of fiat ... and it doesn't happen all in a rush, it takes a long time for empires to melt, this business of concentration camps in the desert is just stupid, not gonna happen, conflicts too much with all those myths of liberty tied up in national psyche, reality is far more subtle, incremental
And a modernity quibble - we won't need wheelbarrows, technology has brought us wonderful inventions in which storage and transport is greatly improved, it's a matter only of changing numerals and shifting decimal points around, a few electrons going this way or that, poof, nothing to it, piece of cake |
