You're not getting it....they aren't doing people any favors! They're trying to save their own ass. People can try and blame anyone they wish but in the final analysis it's THE BANKS that created these finance schemes. It's the Banks that did the no proof of income loans. This is totally and completely a banking issue! The other thing is GOOD PEOPLE who made all the right decisions are going to be hurt if they're forced into selling their home during this period. That would not be the case (or at least the severity would be different) had banks done their due diligence on each and every loan! They didn't and in the end they're the ones we're going to bail out! Real estate agents can only sell to a consumer if the bank loans the money People can only buy if the bank loans the money Banks can only loan money if the people qualify - oops - that was years ago when they actually qualified people! The banks screwed the goose on this one - don't buy into covering their butts!
