In the final analysis a bank still has to be willing to lend the money. The buck stops with them. They played a huge role in this and its going to hurt everyone. Not only has the fed been forced to lower rates in an effort to accommodate poor banking decisions but they've been forced to do so with the real potential of sparking inflation. This has the potential makings of the perfect storm in economic terms. The "can't happen here" attitude could turn on a dime and none of us are going to like it
