I really liked several of the songs- better than I liked the Beatles versions. Of course I never liked the Beatles- so almost any other singer is an improvement for me. I also liked the plot. Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Boy finally gets girl. I have been watching Moulin Rouge recently- and I see much to compare in the two works. The pastiche of music, used as a collage, making the music take exciting new twists, the intense and strange visuals- I love both works, and they grow on me each time I watch them.
