If McCain can talk Condelezza Rice into joining the ticket as VP, he will have scored a major victory. He will have undermined Hillary's "Women for me" tag line and Obama's "vote for me because I am black" jig.

And he would secure one of the brightest, smartest, most astute running mate that the Republicans could muster.

Of course, Conde might say no. But she might also say yes.

And what a coup that would be for McCain and for the Republican Party going into next November.
