Yes, it's true that it's just the Republicans who can vote for Ron Paul at present. But the election is a long way away and I assume he could stand as an independent.

I don't think he is a pacifist so much as a non-belligerent who would respond to aggression rather than be "over there" in so many countries in pre-emptive mode.

If his ideas were popular, then there would be more candidates arguing along similar lines.

I recall McCain had very low support at one stage but he zoomed through to the lead. I assume Ron Paul could do the same. Especially if he said "Free $10,000 for all voters when I'm elected" to save the economy. His gold standard idea is a dud in my opinion.
