My parents were married for 55 years. I have a very strong healthy view of marriage. But when you tell us marriage improves sex lives, that's a laugh. Very often just the opposite is the case. And 50% of marriages break up partly because the fat-ass husband or "old grey mare" doesn't get the mojo going anymore. Sometimes in fact that can happen very quickly. Since there is no more courting going on, romance and sexual attraction can end. The main purpose of marriage is to have children. Childless couples who stay together forever out of love are a beautiful thing, but fairly rare.
