The way I found a doctor was to seek out a gerontologist and GP. I figured that a gerontologist couldn't exist without accepting Medicare. I'm pleased with her.

Even so, almost all Dr's accept the plan.

As for the percentage that participate, a quick Google produced this: "The overall rate of participation is 72.3 percent this year." That dates back to the mid '90s, though. News reports are that the rate is dropping but I don't see anything current without doing more work.
