The problem is we can't let the banks fail or we'll see the same kind of run on the bank scenario that destroyed us in the 30's. I believe I read somewhere that if we had a run on the bank scenario like we faced in the 30's that FDIC could really only cover about 1/10th of 1% on the dollar. It's the dirty little secret and the reason why the Govt. steps in every time there's a banking issue
