If I had to get a new dog today I'd be very worried about where they come from.

I just declined to adopt a pup from a woman for that reason. She is just starting out as a breeder, and is not doing a very good job. The sire and dam came from the same breeder north of here. When I pressed, she told me that they are related. Likely first or second cousins.

I said I'd pass.
