It seemed crazy to me when I first learned that France [and Europe] paid megabillions to farmers to not grow crops: <Some are calling for loosening a federal conservation program that compensates growers for leaving fields fallow > Being an engineer, such "thinking" seemed insane. As I aged [quickly] I realized that political life is not about good sense for the the management of the commons for the common good but greedy megalomaniacs grabbing and bribing and repressing and forcing.
