for Manufacturing 'Agent' Software Research and Development

AUSTIN, Texas Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- ObjectSpace, Inc., a leader in distributed software technology, and
Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD), a global supplier of integrated circuits, have been awarded $2.5M of
Research and Development funding by the Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST). This award was granted to develop innovative applications of ''agent software technology'' for
semiconductor manufacturing. The resulting systems will be based on the ObjectSpace Voyager(TM) Core
Technology (Voyager), an advanced, 100% Java(TM) object request broker (ORB) and will be validated in AMD's
latest generation microprocessor factory.

* I guess this describes AMD's wafer fab processes!
