What all this will mean for the stock today should be very interesting... no matter what happens to the indexes.

As of the January 31 settlement date our short interest was @303k.

Then too Ashford... our very big seller as of 12/31... may be about through dumping. They filed an 8K disclosing that they no longer own more than 5% as of yesterday. And with the majority of the 12/31 position reports in, we were right at 34% institutional ownership excluding the related Electrical Benefit Fund's shares.

So I would think we won't get any more "honest" shorting until we threaten the $6.50 level... And that at the open we will have no more than about 100k in outstanding shorts looking for cover.

I would also think they are going to try to keep any "gap up"... down to a minimum... maybe $4.75? I don't see them being able to get back to $4.31 anytime soon unless they get a numbnut who insists on giving up money. <Hoo><Haa>

All in all I think we are going to see a huge white candle to close out the week with a possible $2 difference between the hi-lo price Friday. But the size of our maximum potential difference? ...Well that's probably too obscene to say. <vbg>

It looks like $2... say $4.70 to $6.70 might be a possible hi-lo even if the broader markets continue to sell off. Amkor had a comparable EPS surprise after hours on Wednesday's close at $9.40... Then gapped up to trade between $10.51 and $11.42 on Thursday.

Of course Amkor is a lot higher visibility stock than we are. They probably have 3 times the analyst coverage if not more... but the markets were selling off pretty good while they were jumping.

I think its going to depend upon the number of MoMo's who want to ride... but still didn't have a tickee by 2/14. I could see them being "comfortable" getting in at anything under $8... as long as they have more than a 12 month horizon.

Whenever the MoMo's start buying I think $8 is where they will take a breather. The question is when will they start stampeding... I'm told many of them can't get in a stock trading under $5 but assume this means it must be over $5 for some time.

If we don't get under $4.70 before 10 or 10:30 I'm guessing we'll get at least a $2 swing in price before closing around $5.75-6.25... no matter what the MoMo's do.

But then... that assumes that the indexes don't stage one of their mindless tech rallies... that the MoMo's try to maintain some decorum during their stampede... and that our shorts are not dumber than I thought... and we don't still have 300+k short out there looking for cover.

If we get a little MoJo working and a couple of those things line up for us... well then I think we could actually see that $2 swing turn into a $4 swing PDQ... but then... that would just be too greedy... and I would be in danger of massive infarction. <Hoo><ack><ack><Hooooooooo>
