When supply gets dried up, prices will go up for a short time until Intel ramps capacity to meet demand. This year, they'll have a sizable 45nm supply, and still several 65nm fabs that can supplement it, easily meeting 100% of the market's needs. Any price fluctuations would be quite temporary, as they have been historically in most cases where demand has outstripped supply by a sufficient amount.

LOL, Yeah, Intel would be super-motivated to spend billions ramping capacity so they can end the "temporary price increases..."

Meanwhile, sucks being that customer that got screwed during the "temporary price increase..." Hey, since Intel is so generous, maybe they'll offer rainchecks when the supply runs out.

You crack me up, man.
