Simple point......profits drive R&D for any company in any business.....the more absolute profit, the more absolute dollars for R&D. European and US companies both spend about 30% of their revenues on R&D. All US companies have huge facilities in Europe and it's not for cheap labor. The converse is also true.

The US market does not provide 48% of world sales...
US companies have 48% of sales in the US....

Your disproportionate argument is specious.....it's silly.
How much of the world's energy do we consume with that 5% of the world population......28%....30%?
