I looked in the paper at prices in my 'hood last weekend and was a bit shocked. My house is off 30%+ at the asking price from '06. Who knows where it is at an actual selling price. Welcome to the housing market of the West Coast. Its been like this for over 2 decades. You only sweat it when you have to sell during a de-speculation period....and if that happens, it can be a real bummer. I know......I found out the hard way. That's a lot of money! Yes, but it was never yours. It was only yours if you sold at the top.
