First of all, I think most Americans sympathize with the Israelis in their conflict

I think most Americans could care less. Most Americans care about their kid's schools, the price of gas, their rent, their jobs and what to have for dinner. Conflicts between other people on the other side of the planet are not something your average American cares about.
