I would think whoever owns them now would prefer getting some cash as opposed to the alternative. And I do recognize that this is somewhat of a legal quagmire.

I remember a few years back when I realized what they were doing in creating these CDO's I thought "that's a bad idea". It's like a big Ponzi scheme. The loser is the one who is holding the bag when the music stops.
