Because we have 47 million uninsured in this country!!!" We are a civilized nation supposed to be a shining example to the rest of the world..... But we have 10's of millions with no health coverage, still practice the death penalty, and condone torture of prisoners..... If you're that friggen libertarian, go build a cabin in the woods and live as they did in the 18th century.....in you choose to live in a civilized society, then participate in its governance....by the people and for the people.
