The NRA pushes ultra-liberal gun laws. They want anyone but a convicted felon to be able to get any type of weapons they want with no waiting period, no psychiatric checks, no limits to purchases, no training courses, nothing. That is ultra-liberal to the max and it's costing us thousands of US lives, most of them innocent kids.

The conservative approach would be to guard against nut cases and emotionally out of control people getting ANY guns, and investing in mature, common sense regulation a la Brady Bills. Also, it is insane to allow assault rifles in the public. There is no need for them whatsoever except to go on killing rampages.
