The excuse is that America's poor and people without healthcare are not really poor and many choose not to have healthcare. Well, yes, if health insurance costs $10k per year for a family of 4 and the family gross income is say $40K they may "choose" to have a roof over their head and food to eat and clothing rather than purchase health insurance. Some "choice".
