Obama and Hillary agree on almost everything, unlike McCain and the rightwing GOP base which sees him as a traitor. In fact all of McCain's main accomplishments have infuriated the rightwing, campaign finance reform, normalizing relations with Vietnam, standing up to Delay congress pork barrel spending, CAFE standards bill with Kerry, Immigration bill with Kennedy and Global Warming bill with Lieberman.
We democrats support our candidates 100%. Right now it looks like Obama is going to win which is very exciting for the nation and the world. But if Hillary manages to pull it out (with Obama as her VP no doubt) she would be a wonderful president, maybe even better than Bill was.
This is a great year for the progressive movement. We are going to take our country back from the crooks, liars, cheaters, gougers, pollutors, fear-mongers, dividers, religious wackos and bigots. The whole world will cheer when we do. American will suddenly be popular again. Our dollar will rise. Terrorists will probably curb their attacks. We can bring our troops home from Iraq and start balancing budgets, converting to greener energy and preparing for the challenges of the future. But before we get there one more smear campaign by the rightwing is coming. Today's smear that Obama is "gay" and a "rapper". Expect more total BS like this. It's all they have to run on. |
