We lived in a trailer for 5 years after we got married. We bought it and paid for it with our hard earned money, and paid monthly rent on the space. Selling it gave us the step up we needed to buy our land and build the house we still live in.

We are very proud of the fact that we actually thought to do all of that when we were still kids (early 20s) It wasn't hard.......payment to the bank for the loan was cheaper than rent...........and it really didn't depreciate in value over those five yrs. although it didn't increase in value either.

;)
