I think we're there more out of guilt than a pursuit of victory. Of course we already won the war years ago when we took out Saddam.

Building schools and hospitals and bridges and power plants has nothing to do with not wanting to "surrender to islamic imperialists".

A minimal force, like in Korea, stationed there to make sure the crazies don't take over the government is all that we should be doing.
