It provides more than just the medical care. There are other countries with free medical care that aren't poor. So your thesis is flawed.

And then there is the problem of Cuba's small size; the fact that its an island with few natural resources and is governed by a dictator. That notwithstanding, Ten and his peers have convinced themselves that had Cuba used a capitalist economic model it would be the Beverly Hills of the third world.
