Health insurance for a family of four will rarely cost 10K.

At E-Health insurance for a family of four in Fairfax County, VA its 2760 a year, changing both parents to smokers changed it to 3228. In a randomly selected Chicago zip code it was 3094.92/year (and under $3400 for smokers). In a randomly selected LA zip code, with both parents smoking, it was 3936, and in Dallas (again with two smokers) it was 3528.

Even doubling the figures (you want much better insurance, or you have some other health issue which raises the rates), still doesn't reach $10K in any of these places.
