There were some key points highlighted in that article Mark. I agree the author did a fair job of bashing dems with speculation but what about the main issues?

If there is to be a Clinton or Obama sitting in the oval office, or even that likelyhood, sending emmisaries to Damascas now to begin establishing communication channels is a good thing, IMO.

1) If you are a dem believer it makes sense to use whatever influence you have to manipulate activity in the middle east in your political favor, short of sacrificing the interests of America.

2) Is the left position on Israel fairly stated? If not what is wrong with this authors analysis?

3) Are the outcomes of 'Out of Iraq' fairly stated or not? Is this realistically the agenda of dems? Is it defensible now and 20 years from now if manifest in 2008?

4) Do you see an American exit from the Persian Gulf under dem leadership?
