That's true. Its also a useless tautology. The point is that 48% of that world wide revenue comes from the US.

Does the drug industry fund all pharmaceutical research?

No. And no one is arguing that it does.

But it does spend a lot on R&D and testing, and the incentive to spend that much money goes down as governments force prices down.

Exactly the majority of R&D money comes from the industry. And that might not even include the costs of testing and gaining approval.
