I've been waiting for this event to happen, and I suspect it will be a big positive for the cruise industry. Well, the event kind of happened, and that's Fidel stepping down. That being said, the situation there remains pretty murky and generally status quo for now.
Eventually (and the big if is when IMHO) Cuba will open up, and Havana will become a major destination for the likes of RCL and CCL. For those of you have cruised the Caribbean routes, you know that new ports are greatly needed to provide variety, and Havana would definitely fill that bill.
I have owned IGT for a very long time now, and that's another company which would benefit from Cuba opening up, but to a lesser degree. I still think IGT is a solid investment whether this event happens or not.
