Zomax Optical Media, Inc. Announces the Installation of New State-of-the-Art Glass Mastering System

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Zomax Optical Media, Inc. (Nasdaq:ZOMX) today announced the successful installation and initial production from its $4.0 million dollar state-of-the-art glass mastering facility. Glass mastering is the process of creating metal ''stampers'' from which compact discs are molded.

James T. Anderson, President and CEO of Zomax stated, ''The installation of this equipment brings master quality and timeliness under the Company's control and eliminates the expensive outsourcing that was previously done. Zomax now has the ability to attract new customers who previously chose not to work with the Company because it lacked mastering capabilities and those customers who require very fast turnaround time. In addition, this equipment is DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) ready to meet our needs as we install DVD molding equipment and develop our DVD manufacturing capabilities.''
