I am a new SI investor that follows BIOX very closely. My very good
friend was the first person in our city in Ontario Canada to have synvisc treatment. I would like to point out to some of my US investor
friends the results that have happened in Canada. My friend approx
60 years old at the time was a couch potato that was in pain all day.He couldn't sleep at night. He was on a large dose of anti-inflammatory , pain pills etc. He suffers from osteoconditis
desicins(disintegraton of the knee joint.)Please excuse my spelling
on the medical terms. Please note that he had 4 major operations on his knees and all the cartilage was removed. He was at his wits end and all specialists recommended full knee replacements. He happened to see an advertisement in magazine and phoned the company himself.
Please also note that at least here in Canada Synvisc has a written money back guarantee if it is injected properly and does not work for a least 6 months. After he finally found a specialist he had to sign a waiver of liability towards the specialist as she had never performed this procedure before and was not sold on SYNVISC. Friends this is where this story gets interesting. He had his left knee done first. After 5 minutes after the first in the series of injections he was totally pain free in the knee. His right knee was still very very painful but weeks later when he went through the injections for that knee he was also totally pain free in that knee also. This was a person who was absolutely unable to even walk a short distance without excruciating pain. He was now able to take physiotherapy to strengthen his atrophied muscles and was able to resume curling and golfing and walking without discomfort. Now is the part that I would like to clarify regarding how long Synvisc lasts. I keep reading this 6 month duration on these postings for Biox but let me tell you that his first injections lasted 3.5 years totally pain free. In Oct 96 the pain started to reappear and he had the procedure done again and it has so far lasted 1 year totally pain free. This person has spoken by telephone to an estimated 1 thousand people in Canada that have had or were thinking of having this procedure done. Many people in our city of 110,000 have had this procedure with excellent results. His sister had one knee done 4 years ago and stll has no problems. I asked him if if there were any negative aspects of this procedure ot SYNVISC I could post on this posting. The only thing that he felt was the specialist MUST MUST inject this material into the proper area(synovial sac?) or swelling will occur and the knee will have to be aspirated. This happened to him when he went for the second series of injections. I tried to be as factual as possible and I welcome any questions as I think this material is very under-rated so far in the U.S..
