Oh, I agree with that. I'm confident that it will expand and expand. Argued that extensively up-stream. It's probably the main reason I'm not receptive to single-payer. The Medicaid thing wasn't something I favor, particularly. It was a rhetorical gambit to counter the non-responsive single-payer mantra drone.

My preferred approach would be to try to get costs down by creating competition and and cutting out the employer middleman as a first step. And create lots of convenient, low cost, and free clinics. Once insurance is as affordable as it can be and there are lots of packages to choose from and clinics to go to, then we can see who and how many are left out and what needs to be done about it.
