The subprime mess is as much the left's fault as the right's. You're hilarious. By giving the country 8 years of prosperity, Bill Clinton wasn't giving the nod to put every tom dick and harry into a house while ignoring good lending practices. Alan Greenspan by providing low interest rates didn't say now you can cut corners on lending standards and put every tom, dick and harry into a house. Those were not the players that made the subprime debacle happen. There are three sets of players who are most responsible for this subprime mess: the realtors, the lenders and the appraisers. Actually, there is a fourth...the ones who bundled the bad loans with good ones in the form of CDOs. The realtors told their clients to lie on their applications, the lenders lowered their lending and credit standards and the appraisers fudged on the appraisals to make the loans work. And I bet you a majority of those people vote Republican year in and year out. Its so very typical of the right to find a way to place the blame on someone [usually a liberal] other than the real culprits who are usually themselves. If it hadn't been for that annoying under cover cop in the next stall, Craig would never have tapped his foot. Iraq was a mistake. We all know that. But that's not the question any longer. Finally, an admission of error. The question now is, what do we do now? Get out as quickly as possible. Iraq is costing us a small fortune and American lives. Tax cuts are a far more complicated issue tan you are even faintly capable od understanding. But Bush has made no worse a mistake than that Democrat LBJ. He also has gone for guns AND butter. He cut taxes on the wealthy while starting two wars. Even a fifth grader knows that's a stupid move. Schiavo? Her parents were nuts. Happy? Excuse me but who was her parents' biggest defender in FLA? Jeb Bush. Who called Congress back from recess to pass special legislation on behalf of her "nutty parents".......Tom Delay. BTW guess who paid for those special flights to and from DC for this special legislation. If they knew the parents are nutty, why did the GOP jump through hoops for them? Hell, after watching a video of her, Frist violated his Hypocratic Oath and said Schiavo was alive. My cousin who is a GP fell off his chair in disbelief. Creationism? The Religious Right is nuts. I wish it would crawl back under the rock it came from and give me back my party. Hey, they are major player in the GOP. Through the GOP mouthpiece, they have been able to voice their complaints to the rest of us Americans. Anything else you want to argue about? No, you've made my argument for me. Thanks.
