I think I pay more than that in federal taxes. And I don't even get a dime of SS or Medicare, which is like half of the budget.
You will get SS and Medicare... and those are separate, dedicated taxes. Not income tax. You may or may not get a good deal. You may get disabled and get SS early and that's a super deal for you, or you may die young and get ripped off. And your money will go to some other person that lives a long, long life.
As far as your income tax, you get your army, ou get your food inspected, you get the guys that would rip you off with bad investments put in jail, you get your US highways, you get your FBI and CIA to foil the bad guys that are trying to kill you, you get your anti-trust guys trying to nail companies like Intel, you get enforcement of the US constitution, you get some border security, you get your diplomats, you get pure science research for disease and drugs, you get a lot, lot more than that.
Essentially you get American society. The founding fathers founded a GOVERNMENT. It's always been considered our strength... the US GOVERNMENT. It's what this country IS.
