The NY Times does not print rumors. Only facts backed by multiple sources. Sometimes the sources refuse to let their names be used, but they must be known as credible people who were actually eye-witnesses. If you watch "All The Presdient's Men" you see how hard those journalists work to get multiple confirmations from sources. The Watergate story never would have run if Segretti hadn't backed up the others. It's an amazing film to watch and is very relevant.

Actually the alleged affair isn't the biggest news, is that McCain was flying around on private jets with a sexy female lobbyist and taking her to fundraising parties. first of all he's married. Secondly, she's a lobbyist which is like dating a Russian spy during the Cold War. Plus, when McCain states he has never done anything to benefit a private concern, should we remind him he was one of the Keating 5, the biggest scandal of the S+L debacle era?
