and turn McCain's delegates around.

Those delegates will be bound to McCain on the first ballot, by law I believe. If he gets enough pledged delegates before the convention, he is unstoppable unless he withdraws and releases his delegates. That is very unlikely unless someone emerges with the "smoking dress" as someone else put it.
