But Saddam had WMDs! Or maybe not.

But Saddam was creating a haven for al Quaeda! Or maybe not.

But removing Saddam will stabilize the region! Or maybe not.

But Saddam was an evil dictator! Well maybe so, but we haven't taken out the other evil dictators at cost of TRILLIONS of dollars and thousands of American lives and tens of thousands of Iraqi lives.

No doubt that Bush went into Iraq on false pretenses, with a half-baked plan that has totally backfired.

Bush has created a new Serbia, where the warring factions were kept in check by a ruthless dictator, and when the dictator was removed there was essentially civil war. Those who do not remember the past are doomed to repeat it.

We are barely keeping a lid on the civil war, it's going to be ugly if we simply pull out. But it's ugly if we stay. Why anyone is in a rush to inherit this mess is beyond me.
