The SAD State of Affairs at U.S. Public Institutions Episode #1 At the official Nasdaq.com site, if you search for the symbol NFI quotes.nasdaq.com The answer: Symbol NFI changed to NOVS on Jan. 17, 2008. Now then you search for the symbol NOVS, The Answer: NOVS is an unknown symbol. Episode #2 Now at the FINRA site whose stated purpose is for investors' protection and education, you search for Etrade bonds quotation: cxa.marketwatch.com You get the answer that Etrade's bond closed at $86. The bond has a coupon of 8%. The current yield is listed as 13.373%. When I emailed them about the error of its yield calculation, their response: We are not responsible for the figures, since they are supplied by the vendor. With these sad state of affairs, just how do you expect international investors to have any confidence in the U.S. institutions? pcyhuang
