Dont be mistaken, these wind power plants would not be made without subsidies.

Yes, well, oil and gas has gotten far more subsidies over the past century than wind or solar has ever gotten. And, even as a mature sector that makes billions of dollars ever quarter, they continue to get subsidies, both overt and hidden. The overt subsidies may end if the Democrats actually win the Presidency and both houses of Congress. But the indirect subsidies--the environmental damages and health problems that they have caused over the years without being liable for most of them--will continue. As will the fact that burning fossil fuels is causing climate change that will be far more expensive to adapt to, if indeed we can in the end adapt to it.

There are very good reasons for subsidizing wind and solar energy sources. If you don't like the environmental reasons, you surely will like the security reasons and the possibility of either greater or even complete energy independence a couple of decades down the road.
