You republican spinmeisters are very good at taking a person's strength and framing it as a weakness. Look at what you did to Kerry. Obama's strength is that he is able to inspire people to get involved and think that they may be able to make a difference. It is not salvation, it is faith, that people are interested in. Many people would love to believe that the American system of democracy is not broken. That the people actually have the power and can exercise it when they rise up. Many people would love to believe that America still can be the idealistic beacon to the world, but we have to give up the idea that in order to protect ourselves from terrorism that we should abandon our moral high ground. People also want to believe that the assault on the economic welfare of the average middle class American from economic policies that cater only to rich multinational corporations can be stopped or at least slowed down. People want to believe, they don't want to be saved.
