Pacific Investment Management Co. bond-fund manager Bill Gross, a Treasury bear, said inflation could keep the Federal Reserve from pushing short-term interest rates much lower. He also thinks the stalling economy could lead to a big increase in government spending, something bond investors wouldn't like to see, because it would mean a surge of supply in Treasurys.
