Yes, the correct Irish spelling of Kerry/Kerrey/cary/carey/tc is Kerry. Given that I have no Irish blood (US mongrel breed, British/German/Scottish/thx), of course I personally have great pride in the name.
One thing I will say: all of us guys who grow up with a female name have a certain thickness of the umm, skin, that others don't have, especially if you grow up as a yankee in a southern state. Personally, I have a certain thickness (of the skull, amongst others) that other don't have. I never saw either of the political kerry/kerrey's (last name) having it.
(My dad, an All American stud football player, named me because he liked a fellow football player. Names shape you, though, and I always had to deal with crap. I'm thankful now for who I am, but I will tell people that names do mean a lot.)
Note that I don't know what longnsnort said because I put him on ignore. If you don't know how tough the Kerry's are, think of the inordinate number of athletes with the name (although ignore the fact that all of us suck when we hit the pro ranks.)
Longnsnort, please bring me another beer... |
