Who cares what the Cubans in Florida think?

The Cubans in Florida and New Jersey are very active politically. In a state like Florida where the vote is evenly split, they are the swing.

If an administration moves toward normalizing relations with Cuba, they simply throw Florida away. At a lot of levels, presidential, senatorial, gubernatorial. Etc.

That's why Clinton did nothing. With Reagan and Bush I it was all the anti-communist crap. With Bush II, it's the same as with Clinton.
