I think the key to the post you responded to is the energy aspect. There are some tradeoffs we're going to have to make for a while. We're not going to be burning the cleanest source of energy BUT if we really apply the cost savings to finding the answers to renewable, clean energy it will be worth it. I don't believe food based bio-fuel is the answer. In fact I think we're gambling with our ability to feed the globe - bad idea. If we think there's going to be battle over energy just wait until a few of major military countries experience hunger. I think I read that an acre of corn could create enough ethanol to fill the average car up 3 times. That same acre could feed a person for a year. If my recollection is correct its not a good tradeoff. It would be kind of nice if they could figure out how to convert grass to fuel...then they'd pick up my lawn clippings <g>
