What you are suggesting is that we need to continue the politics of personal destruction similar to what the NYT did with McCain. Now you suggest that the press to go after the Obama story.

Michael, I am sure you did not fail to notice the reaction and the mood of the American people to negative attacks. To better understand it, take your lesson from South Carolina. Look at the margin of Hillary's defeat at SC. Even Bill who was fondly called the "first Black President" was kicked on the ass by the very people who he thought loved him and that he could get away with anything with them.

You should be asking yourself if it makes you feel "really proud" to go back to the politics of the past.
