ElM, everyone likes to consume, to a limit. <Everybody likes to consume. Show me someone that doesn't. > I find that long ago my consumption wishes were satisfied. I have more fun with investing than consuming.

As one climbs Maslow's hierarchy of needs, obesity doesn't become attractive and owning a big and bigger boat isn't necessarily desirable.

I ogled a nice big boat a few years ago because when I was young I liked going on boats and fishing. But I considered all the hassles of owning it and how long I'd actually use it and decided if I get the urge to go on a boat, I can go on a tourist operator's boat or rent one with crew. So far, I have been on a few ferries.

An ocean cruise might be nice. We went by ship from NZ to London in 1974 and it was very enjoyable.

One of these days I'm going to get around to designing a house I want to live in rather than one that somebody else designed. So there is still more consumption to be done. But not everyone wants to own an SUV and spend time roaring around freeways.
