Also... since the FEC is quite unlikely to be able to muster a quorum to legally vote (to approve or deny) McCain's request to *withdraw* from the public financing system --- he likely will have to go to the Federal courts for emergency relief, or else his campaign will be stone-cold-broke until *after* the GOP's convention.

(So, explain to me again... WHY is it that the McCain campaign is trying to make a big deal about Obama's campaign merely thinking about not taking public finance, since McCain's team has ALREADY sent a letter to the FEC trying to do EXACTLY THAT itself?)

I keep hearing a lot 'o mumbling for an 'answer', which leaves me wanting more. <g>
