Let us examine what the bottom rung of the economic ladder represents - it represents opportunity to work for a living. In the inner city high school graduation rates are lucky to be 50% on paper and likely far less on achievement. These kids are not going to start out in middle management. They are most likely, if lucky, start in a minimum wage job.

Now you say why do immigrants want these jobs? I will assume you are serious in your question. Why - because the illegals coming across the border are no better qualified than our domestic uneducated teens. The major difference is they came here to work and they do - and with a good attitude as well. So - which group would you hire?

The proof is visual to the casual observer. Go to the hotels in Houston. Go to the hotels in South Florida. As for Green Cards - hey - no problem - they obviously are not needed.

Again, I submit this will be a huge issue this summer - and it should be a big issue for domestic minorities. I assure you - it is not a job threat to me.
