This seemed such an odd contrast given the enormous numbers of illegals pouring into America that I am sharing it with the thread, just out of puzzlement.
Yesterday my older son called to see if I had proof of his degree from Rice.
I said, yeah, I have lots of receipts for the tuition. He said, no, that he had to show that he had graduated and in what field.
He is trying to hire a programmer from Canada for his small company, and apparently not only does the Canadian have to show that he has a degree in computer science, but CW has to show HE has a degree in the same and that he needs this guy's particular skills in CW's company. Then he gets some kind of special green card.
There is a lot of paperwork, apparently.

Just struck me odd.
