Forget Hillary, she's toast. Obama is simply being vetted by a normal campaign with normal criticisms flung around. The rightwing though is back in the smear business. It's encouraging to see though that none of the rightwing smears affect Obama's popularity. They can put him in an Ethiope's robe, hear insane dishonest Republicans calling him a "Muslim", "gay", "crack snorter", "shuck and jive", "rapper", whatever racist or phobic slur they want etc. and none of it matters. He is way-way above the rightwing river of sewage, none of which touches him. And why is he? Because this country needs him now so badly that nobody is going to buy into the ugly smear negativity. Besides, we know none of its true. Thee last thing we need is McCain. He's not terrible, but he's 90% Bush policies which have already broken our backs, nobody really supports him, and he's just a boring old compromise candidate because Bush is now the most despised president in US history. There's nothing positive to vote for there. More war in Iraq? That's not positive except to the 20% most hawkish. 80% of the country wants our troops home ASAP.
